I never like bulky cases on my phones. In fact, I would probably use my phone with no case at all if the phone itself wasn't so slippery.
Others have called this case slippery. I'd say it's definitely more slippery than a rubbery bumper case, but not as slippery as the phone itself. I find it to be just fine, but it will definitely slide around on some surfaces more than some other cases.
As far as protection... well it's a minimal case. If you work on a construction site or regularly drop your phones onto hard surfaces, you'll want something sturdier. If you lay your phone glass-side down a lot, this case doesn't stick up above the glass, so be aware.
For my needs, this case is great.
